Tokens

A strategy that creates many creature tokens to overwhelm opponents through sheer numbers. Token decks “go wide” — flooding the board with small creatures, then buffing them with anthem effects or sacrificing them for value.

How Tokens Work

Token strategies generate disposable creatures cheaply, then leverage them in three ways:
1. Go wide — attack with everything, anthem effects make 1/1s into 3/3s
2. Sacrifice — feed tokens to aristocrats effects for drain/draw
3. Combo — infinite tokens via Doubling Season + token doublers

Tokens in Commander

Token strategies thrive in Commander’s multiplayer environment. Popular commanders: Rhys the Redeemed (token doubling), Prossh, Skyraider of Kher (sacrifice synergy).
