Why Play Inexorable Tide

Proliferate decks built around planeswalkers, +1/+1 counters, or poison strategies get massive value from turning every spell into a proliferate trigger. The five-mana investment pays dividends quickly when you're casting multiple spells per turn, essentially doubling or tripling your counter accumulation rate. Control decks can leverage this to rapidly ultimate planeswalkers while maintaining board presence through other spells.

Commander represents the strongest home for Inexorable Tide, where longer games allow the enchantment to generate significant value over multiple turns. The multiplayer format provides more targets for proliferate, and the abundance of planeswalkers and counter-based strategies make it a solid inclusion in Superfriends or +1/+1 counter decks. Modern and Legacy applications are limited due to the high mana cost, though it occasionally appears in fringe proliferate builds.
